CropRotaM\u00a0is a transnational research project addressing the growing agricultural and ecological challenges facing the Mediterranean region, where climate change, soil degradation, and unsustainable land use are threatening food security and farming viability.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project promotes the large-scale adoption of agroecological practices \u2014 including diversified crop rotations, intercropping, microbial\u00a0biostimulants, conservation tillage, and precision farming tools \u2014 across Living Labs in Italy, Spain, Greece,\u00a0Turkey, and Germany.\u00a0Building on\u00a0previous\u00a0EU-funded projects,\u00a0CropRotaM\u00a0co-develops its solutions through a Multi-Actor Approach involving farmers, SMEs, advisors, and research institutions.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aligned with the European Green Deal, CAP 2023\u20132027, and the EU Soil Mission, the initiative aims to reduce chemical inputs, restore soil health, enhance biodiversity, and strengthen the socio-economic resilience of smallholder farmers. Its outputs include digital platforms for ecosystem service monitoring, new value chains around climate-resilient crops, and inclusive capacity-building programs\u00a0that actively engage women and young farmers.
